I like to hit my local junkyards regularly, but 95% of my Down On The Junkyard Posts show vehicles from one of just a few nearby junkyards. How would you like to see the greatest hits from all of them?

This is where Patinaproof comes in. A new blog written by the tipster who let me know when the DOTS Amazon and DOTS Squareback showed up in the local towed-car auction, Patinaproof chronicles the travels of a relentless junkyard crawler. Its creator scours all the yards within easy (and sometimes not-so-easy) driving distance of the East Bay, looking for parts worthy of eBay sale, and photographs and documents the most interesting vehicles he finds along the way. How about a Toyota Carina? Yugo GVX? '73 Gran Torino fastback? It's all here!

Hey Murilee! You run out of things to write, try a how-to series on how to get interesting beaters in auctions at bottom dollar (most of us haven't ever been to a used car auction), how to patch them up cheap (ditto the pick-n-pull), the basic tools and techniques ("how to replace a rusted-out floor pan") the logistics and sociology of the process (answers to "Hey where you gonna work on that thing?" and "You want to park that piece of junk in the yard?!") and so forth.

It's a how-to series, so you may want to direct it toward the lowest common denominator, the discontent Camry owner.
