What happens when you peek inside a car that isn't real? In the case of the Gran Turismo 6-exclusive Volkswagen GTI Roadster, you get a surprising amount of detail. Ahead of the car's physical debut in Worthersee this weekend, Volkswagen has released some delightful cutaways.

While the closest the chopped-top smooshed GTI will come to reality is its one-off debut at the giant Volkswagen festival in Austria — and there are no plans for production, sadly — these photos give us a little taste of what the car would look like if it were real.

The GTI Roadster is "powered" by a 3.0-liter twin turbo VR6 engine pumping out 503 horsepower, which go to all four wheels through VW's 4Motion all-wheel drive. Since it's unencumbered by reality, VW says it can do zero to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

Looking at the cutaways, you can see how incredibly compact the GTI Roadster's packaging is. It's also crazy low to the ground at just 3.5 feet high.
