Someone Turned This Massive Earthmover Into A Transformer For Fun

The Bagger 288 is not only one of the largest earthmovers in the world, it's one of the largest land vehicles anywhere, full stop. And now someone has turned the 13,000-ton coal-chewing crawling beast into a fire-spitting stomping Transformer. Because why the hell not.

Normally the Bagger 288 can excavate 240,000 tons of coal daily, and is rumored to wreak total and utter devastation.

Dan DeEntremont is normally an animator, but in his spare time creates crazy computer-generated imagery like this one. Sure, it's a little rougher around the edges than one of the Transforming animations in the movies, but for a guy working in his spare time on something that is not a supercomputer, this is damn impressive. And if you don't think this little exercise is hard work, just look at where the animation was four months ago:

It's a wonder that Michael Bay didn't think to use the Bagger 288 in one of his movies (I'm postulating, I haven't been bothered to see any of them after the first one, please, there are standards of class and taste here, if there is a Bagger 288 in Transformers 9 or whatever it is they're up to now with Shia LaBeouf, well then I'm just not apologizing, I'm still not going to see the movie), as it's all metal and noise and gnashing teeth to start with.

But if it shows up in the next one, don't be surprised.

Just give Dan some credit.
