Bring A Trailer took the automotive world by storm the last five years. The automotive auction site became the place to be to buy things that were rare and unique. But then things just started to get out of hand when people with more money than sense started paying stupid prices for things that weren’t that special. Like $67,000 for a Ford Excursion, or nearly $30,000 for a 2008 Subaru Forester XT that someone else modded. - Lawrence Hodge Read More

If you live in some of the more northern latitudes of the Earth, you’ve likely dealt with some snow recently. If you’re unfamiliar, “snow” is that wet white stuff that falls from the sky and makes everyone around you forget how to drive — the same stuff that the erudite among us buy snow tires to handle. Yet, the best drivers of us all — truckers — seem to do without. - Steve DaSilva Read More

The Tesla Cybertruck isn’t shaping up to be the game-changer Tesla made it out to be. From owners getting less than the advertised range to baffling features that’ll make you wonder how this thing got approved for what’s being called production, the Cybertruck sure is…something. - Lawrence Hodge Read More

Mid-January in America’s rust belt always looks pretty much the same: The sky is grey with clouds, the roads are grey with a disgusting slurry of slushy goop, and our cars turn grey with a light coat of salt. If you don’t want to doom your car to a premature visit to the junkyard in the sky, you can’t let salt sit for too long. But you’re also not supposed to wash your car when it’s below freezing. Last week, it was two degrees on the Fahrenheit scale, and I just couldn’t take it anymore, I had to wash my car. Was that the right choice? - Bradley Brownell Read More

An unidentified driver in Tillamook County, Oregon, failed to heed road signs warning of a closure due to a hole that a landslide had ripped into the road. Not only did the driver shrug off the warning, but they actually removed the barrier and large sign that read “Road Closed,” as the Sacramento Bee reports. Whether through illiteracy or defiance, they ended up driving straight into the massive hole, flipping the car over and causing it to catch fire, according to the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Department. - José Rodríguez Jr. Read More

I’m always baffled by the lengths that people go to steal parts off of cars. Just look at the now-common thefts of Toyota Prius catalytic converters. Obviously, things like wheels are stolen all the time too. As components of modern cars get even more expensive to fix and replace, thieves are getting more brazen in what they’re taking, as evidenced by this Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo that had its headlights stolen. - Daniel Golson Read More

Coupes are an endangered species. Nowadays they seem only relegated to fun, enthusiast models. Cars like the Subaru BRZ, Toyota Supra and Porsche 911 luckily continue to exist because people like us buy them. - Lawrence Hodge Read More

Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda revealed a stable of his favorite cars at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon. As you’d expect, four of the six vehicles onstage at the car show were from Lexus or Toyota, but there was one vehicle that stood out by virtue of both its greatness and the notable fact that it is not made by Toyota, and, yet, occupies a place in “Morizo’s garage:” a Suzuki Jimny. - José Rodríguez Jr. Read More
