Even as a guy who sees top fuel cars with regularity, they can still sneak up on you. Glance away from the tree for a second as the drivers are staging and you’ll jump if you don’t know exactly when the wall of terrifying noise will hit you. People that has NO reference point are the best to watch. Being that there’s nothing else on planet Earth that feels, sounds, or smells like one of these babies, it is a unique experience in and unto drag racing.
I need to get myself to a drag strip, pronto.
