Reithofer Reveals BMW Five-Year Plan: New Models Coming, Open to Acquisitions

The big man from Bayerische Motoren Werke told business types BMW is on a quest to boost profitability, and is open to acquisitions. He confirmed the company's considered taking over a car brand from its competitors, but said none are still on the table. He also confirmed a few new models that have been circulating in the rumor mill for months. Those are, the X1 small SUV, a "Grand Turismo" model based on the CS Concept rolled out in Shanghai, along with a baby Rolls-Royce. Also in the works is a tech-showcase concept car dubbed the Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS) and the pressing of more billions toward the company's EfficientDynamics program.
