The cool thing about the New York scene in the early '80s was that all the weird music crowds were hanging out at the same clubs. You had the punks playing the same nightclubs as the no wave bands, and downtown promoters would bring some uptown rap groups down, too.

Everyone know's Blondie's Rapture, but another classic from this mix was Beat Bop, by reclusive weird graffiti artist Rammelzee. This is the only LP the guy ever recorded, and it's still one of my favorite rap songs.
