Compared to Volvos of yesteryear, today's moose-dodging, people-protecting Swedish Fords are downright loony, with curves in places no one but Simon Templar even knew existed. Now, according to new design chief Steve Mattin, Volvo's models, which he feels are "still a bit restrained," will get more expressive. According to AutoWeek's sources, Mattin's influence will likely show in a new, smaller SUV, the XC50, rumored to be in the works. Word is, the new mantra at the Volvo design studio is "What Would Liberace Drive to the Mardi Gras?"
