After long discussions, the producers of Transformers 3 won permission to film around Washington this week. To help fill out one scene, they needed to recruit 33 military men for extras. Who's more expert at recruiting than the Pentagon?
According to the note seeking extras for the movie on the Department of Defense's Facebook page, director Michael Bay needed men ages 23 to 35, between the heights of 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 2 inches, to work a scene involving the NEST headquarters. "It's always much better when actual military personnel portray military extras, rather than civilians," the Defense Department said.
For their work of up to three nights that may run to 6:30 a.m., the men will be paid $100 for 8 hours, with overtime adding another $100.
