Parenting is really hard, you guys. I may not have any kids (that I'm owning up to, at least) but I recognize how difficult it must be to feed them, clothe them, educate them and, at the absolute bare minimum, keep them alive.
But every now and then, some parents make mistakes when it comes to the rearin' of their young'ins. That's what this couple in North Carolina said after getting in hot water for letting their 2-year-old son take the wheel of their Chevrolet on a rainy road — then filming it and putting it on Facebook.
"I feel bad for doing it and I wasn't thinking, we weren't thinking," mother Angelina Madrid told WCTI 12 News. Check out the TV station's website to watch the video of the kid in action. He's "driving" while sitting on the lap of his father, a Marine at Camp Lejeune who is worried that the backlash from the video will hurt his career. After all, look what happened to Britney Spears.
When I was really little, my dad would put me on his lap and let me "steer" the car up our street and into our driveway. He had his hands on the wheel the whole time and it was at very low speed. I'm sure many of you have similar stories.
But doing that on a rainy road when other cars are around? I feel like that's going too far, and they were just asking for trouble by filming it and putting it on the Internet.
What do we think of this, Jalops? Was this a huge and dangerous mistake by the parents, or are people too obsessed with child safety these days? You be the judge!
