Rallye Monte Carlo puts the top rally drivers in the world into what may be not only the most famous rally of the season but the most mentally grueling event on some of the most deceptively challenging roads. Many falter. Some shine.
And here we see a driver in the latter category, at about 1:56 in the following video:
We’ve actually seen this guy before. Last week I highlighted the excellent pendulum turn of Thibaut Poizot and his codriver Grand Marion in their rather humble Peugeot 208 R2, competing in the very bottom RC4B class. The two finished fourth in class, but won my heart by going extremely sideways in a car that doesn’t send any power to the rear wheels.
It’s a reminder that any car can go sideways, if you believe in yourself enough.
