Stop everything and watch a 2,000 horsepower Hennessey Ford GT break the world record for the standing half mile. In 2,640 feet, the twin-turbo Ford reached 212.9 miles per hour.

It all went down at the Houston Half Mile Shootout over the weekend. I guess breaking the standing mile world record at 257.7mph wasn't enough for Sean Kennedy and Mark Heidaker's GT.

(Hat tip to John Hennessey!)
