Wow. We were big on the puppy-featuring Honda Step Bus concept, and of course, we've gone on record as being massive fans of the Mitsubishi Starion, Lancer Evo, Fuso Super Great truck and of course the mighty Daihatsu Boon X4 (which, yes, isn't a Mitsu product). But what happens if you apply Fuso-style studcraft to an AWD-available keicar? Why nothing less than the crazy-rad Town Box. No Paris Hilton jokes, please. We desperately want one. A Town Box, that is.

Suzuki, Daihatsu and Honda all make nearly identical vehicles; and Mazda puts their name on an OEM product. Except for the front ends, the designs haven't changed much in 30 years. If you think this would be bad in a crash, pres, you should see the '70s and '80s versions. But they're mostly used for in-town and rural deliveries, and not expressway driving. There are also pickup truck versions which are ubiquitous in rural Japan, but I wouldn't call them caminos.

The "Kei" in Keijidosha literally means light, as in light weight. In order to qualify, there are dimensional restrictions, and the engine has to be less than 660 cc. You can slap a turbo and an intercooler on and get 100 hp out of it, but as long as the displacement is less than 660 cc, you're good to go.
