The US Postal Service is famous for their creed "neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."
Apparently we can also add "fiery vehicle" to the list of things that won't stop the mail.
Mail carrier Crystal Castor from Woodward, OK was delivering Christmas letters and packages when she noticed her newish Jeep was starting to smoke. When she opened the hood, she realized that the truck was on fire.
But instead of leaving the truck, packages, and $10 checks from grandma to burn, Crystal rescued as much of the mail as she possibly could. Some packages got singed or wet, but almost all of them were saved.
Crystal said it was all just a part of the job she loves. Also, was this truck under the Jeep Wranger fire recall? Someone should probably look into that.
