Lyft Kills Its Pink Mustache For A Bar That Shows Your Name

That somewhat embarrassing pink mustache is on the way out. Far-from-innocent Lyft is not only nixing the ‘stache, it’s replacing it with something kind of cool.

The replacement will be this display that has cool colors and also your name on it. You, the person who is hailing the ride!

The Verge thinks it’s kind of psychadelic, I think it’s just more generally up-to-date than the very hipstercore/maybe cool during the Bush years facial hair. The big fuzzy mustaches themselves were replaced a while ago with a simple mustache logo, now that’s getting the axe.

The idea is to make it easier for riders to spot their drivers, and for drivers to spot their riders. Other than the clear lack of stealthiness compared to unchanging Uber logos, this seems neat.
