Listen To The Wail Of Aston Martin's Horrible Straight Six Le Mans Engine

If you’ve been disappointed with the blurpy blorp of the BMW M3’s turbocharged straight six, cheer up by listening to the glorious howl of this Aston Martin race car engine.

The car was the ill-fated Aston Martin AMR-One, which ran two races and then was left to gather dust in Prodrive’s garage, as Mulsanne’s Corner reports.

Early estimates of this poor-performing engine put it at about 300 horsepower, but analysis of the car’s trap speeds at Le Mans put it in the 400-500 range.

That’s pretty poor for a top LMP1 prototype engine, but for a tiny 2.0 liter turbocharged straight six, it’s pretty sweet.
