The San Francisco Bay Bridge isn't the only piece of American infrastructure slowly crumbling. Road construction mag Better Roads' survey of America's bridges found that 25.7% of them are considered either functionally obsolete or structurally deficient.
The highest percentage of crappy bridges are located in the District of Columbia (55%) with Rhode Island (53%) and Pennsylvania (39%) behind the seat of our federal government. The state with the largest number of deficient/obsolete bridges is Texas with a whopping 9,564 of them. Glad we're still planning that Texas coastal road trip! [The Car Connection]
