It's that time of year again! And no, I don't mean Pakistan Day, although that's nice too. Today marks another running of the Texas Mile, the biannual festival of speed in a town just north of Corpus Christi. And wouldn't you know that those crazy bastards at Hennessey Performance went and set themselves another speed record there yet again?
According to the Texas Mile's official Facebook page, a Hennessey Ford GT hit a new record of 267.6 mph this afternoon at the festival in Beeville. That tops the record they set last fall at a speed of 263.3 mph, and blows away the 257.7 mph speed they hit in 2012.
Hopefully, we'll be getting more details, photos and videos of this event soon. It looks to be the same car they ran last year, which had a twin-turbo 5.7-liter V8 running 117 octane racing gas. It's on the quick side, if you know what I mean.
Hats off to Hennessey for another insanely awesome accomplishment.
