While Dodge was busy dropping a Nitro through the center of the earth to get to China, GM's taken its resources and put them into things other than cheese-hat CGI and hopped the slow boat over to economize. The result? A new plant near Shanghai that will crank out hybrids in about a year. In a joint-venture with SAIC, the General is going to construct what it believes are vehicles that are an interim step to the hydrogen economy it envisions. Can it work?
