Director Justin Lin, who was responsible for cinematic masterpieces like The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Fast Five is now set to direct a Hot Wheels movie, whenever that’s happening.

Lin closed a deal with production company Legendary Entertainment to direct the upcoming Hot Wheels movie, according to Variety. Beyond that, details like the film’s release date and plot aren’t known. The film still needs a writer, which tells me that it’s still a long ways off.

I’ve made no secret of my love for the Fast & Furious movies, especially Tokyo Drift and Fast Five. I’m of the opinion that the franchise should have stopped after the amazing and ridiculous escape scene at the end of Fast Five.

Most recently, Lin directed the new Star Trek movie. So it’s safe to say that he knows how to make a kickass action movie.

I’m totally watching a Hot Wheels movie...with the kids, yeah the kids can watch too if they want to.

Personally, I think the best direction would be to make some combination of Honey, I Shrunk The Kids and Toys. In your kid’s bedroom there is a whole underground racing scene that happens on the floor when everyone goes to bed. A human somehow gets shrunk down and has to participate to become the Hot Wheels racing champion.

Yo Justin Lin, I just wrote your movie give me like a billion dollars. K thnks.
