Every Car I Took To 7-Eleven Last Year

Every Car I Took To 7-Eleven Last Year

As it turns out, I love 7-Eleven, and cars look great photographed in front of it.

(Andy so loves his convenience store he thought we should celebrate somehow so we are re-running his piece in honor of July 11 or 7-11 to Americans.)

7-Eleven is the best convenience store there is. There’s something deeply comforting about walking into that fluorescent-lit, orange, green and red box and picking out some sort of soft drink with your buddies. It’s a very liminal space in a lot of ways. At night, it feels like another world entirely. As it turns out, though, 7-Eleven isn’t just great for buying convenience store items. No, no. It’s also a sick-ass canvas to take pictures of cars in front of.

So, that’s what I did, 15 times to be exact. Well, there are a few in front of a Sheetz (thanks, rural Pennsylvania) and for another couple, I had to settle for some weird local shops in New Mexico. We do the best with the cards we’ve been dealt!

Eagle-eyed readers will remember I did something very similar last year. Well, you all seemed to enjoy it, so I decided to do it again. Of course, I cannot take full credit for this 7-Eleven idea. No, that was started by a photographer who snapped some pictures of a Maserati MC12 at the iconic market. My photos are, at best, a homage to those.

Anyway, if you’re a fan of cars and convenience stores, why don’t ya start clicking?

The yellow of the RC-F really goes well with the iconic color 7-Eleven color scheme.

Now this is even better than the RC-F in terms of color scheme. What a machine the Challenger Swinger is.
