Apparently, being a public servant in Dubai is like a real life version of Bad Boys or Miami Vice. You just get to drive sick performance cars everywhere and generally look awesome. We know the Dubai cops do this, and now we know even the fire department gets in on the action.
Not to be outdone by the supercar-loving Dubai Police Department, the Dubai Fire Brigade recently obtained a new Corvette Stingray, according to Drive Arabia. No, it's not as extreme as the Dubai cops' Ferraris or Lamborghinis, but it can at least keep up for much cheaper, which is kind of the entire point of the Corvette.
Normally this is where I'd applaud the Dubai Fire Brigade for saving the taxpayers a lot of money by getting an affordable speed machine like a Corvette, but Dubai gets so much oil money that people don't pay taxes there. Regardless of who paid for it, the new Stingray should get the city's bravest to fires pretty quickly.
As Drive Arabia notes, it's likely an improvement over the department's old C6 Corvette, which had a wicked yellow aluminum spoiler on the trunk. The new one doesn't, which is good because wings almost never look good on street Corvettes.
