Many people don't realize neither testament of the Bible was initially offered broken out neatly into little verses. For instance, there was no one hanging out at the Colosseum holding up a sign with "John 3:16" printed on it. It makes sense not to because, depending on how you break up a text, you can change the meaning. Also, it reduces the message into soundbites and removes context so they can be made to make contradictory statements. For example, using the Bible P161911 was able to confuse us in the What Would Jesus Drive QOTD.
