The Veep who swings long and hard when he's talking politics, was decidedly flaccid today speaking in front of the National Auto Dealers Association (NAMBLA). The former oil exec spent a lunch hour praising the greatness of all-ah the auto design coming out of the automakers, and spent very little time speaking on anything substantial like the recent plant closings and job cuts now underway at FoMoCo and the General. And by very little time — we mean zero time. ...classified as "small business owners" the Veep with a penchant for shooting people in the face with a shotgun was more than likely there to court campaign contributions from the hard R's in attendance at the distributors-not-manufacturers event. Which, if you think about it, is al-lah-lot like how he deals with the nation's energy needs — it's the "I don't care how you get it, where it comes from, or which automaker ethnic group you gotta bend to your will, just keep those campaign contributions that black gold flowing" strategy.
