By any metric the first-generation Dodge Viper is an absolutely fantastic car. Fast, loud and ostentatious, it’s the perfect American vehicle. Unfortunately, everyone else knows this, so early Vipers are often ruinously expensive. Not always, though. Sometimes you come across a Viper like this one, where the seller out in Maine is asking just $12,000 for America’s favorite son. It just needs a little bit of work to get it shipshape, but it’ll be worth the work. Maybe. - Amber DaSilva Read More

Collector vehicle insurance giants Hagerty put out its quarterly list of winners and losers in the market, and some of the cars, trucks and SUVs on these lists just might surprise you. This is by no means investment advice, and it’s silly to expect any particular vehicle market to behave rationally, but maybe some of these could influence your next purchase. If there were a Buy/Sell/Hold guide to car collecting, this is pretty much it. - Bradley Brownell Read More

You’ll also attract the attention of all the people who know just how awesome the Mauck MSV is. There must be dozens of us. Dozens! - Collin Woodard Read More

YouTube’s Rich Rebuilds has been taking electric vehicles apart to see what makes them tick for years, so when a bargain-priced Fisker Ocean came on his radar, he had to buy it. Even if it was totally bricked. This car was purchased new for over $70,000, had several thousand dollars of paint protection and tint applied, was driven for 300 miles, and traded in. It sat on the dealer lot for long enough for the battery to die, and the techs at the dealer couldn’t figure it out. So they sold it to Rich for just 10 grand! - Bradley Brownell Read More

This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette was built for the SCCA B-Production class, and it was driven by Bill Jobe to back-to-back Southwest Divisional championships in 1971 and 1972. In those years it won a total of 15 class victories and four overall wins, which is pretty impressive for a division-level B-prod car. Prior to its road racing career it also won five consecutive autocross championships from 1964-69. This car is not unfamiliar with taking trophies. It was restored about 15 years ago, and allegedly features a Traco Engineering-built fuelie 331 cubic inch V8. The seller wants $69,000. Nice. - Bradley Brownell Read More
