The 91. I-80 along the East Bay shore. The 405/101 interchange. The 710 out of the harbor. 580 over Altamont. Vasco Road out in eastern Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. I-5 down into the San Fernando Valley. What do they all have in common? They're California's most-congested sections of road, all largely a result of a massive housing boom in outlying areas like the 909, Lancaster, Palmdale and Santa Clarita, as well as in the Central Valley. And the estimated amount of dosh required to get the roads back in shape? 140 billion dollars. Current amount allotted to shore up Cali's crumbling infrastructure? $116 billion. Can everyone just leave now so we can have our freaking state back? Thanks.
