This 1950s cartoon about a year-2000 man (voiced by the guy who'd later go on to voice George Jetson) lusting after some new cars is surprising in how many things it predicted. Sure, there's the usual lunar colonies and meals-in-pills, but it gets some surprising things right.
That newspaper sort of pre-figures the web and tablet computers, and there's autonomous cars and car-to-car communication as well. Plus, 3D television, commonplace computing, and a few more. You may also notice a thinly-veiled pressure to buy a new car every year. This wasn't made for altruism, people.
That four-hour, three day work week looks pretty sweet, too. Oh, and I like that there's still the threat of a kid getting a backhand to the face even in this Utopian future.
