Ban stretch limos? Why, because some guy ran a stop sign? The length of the vehicle apparently had nothing to do with the cause of the crash. Read more

That front bench is never going to make it past the concept stage (at least not here in the States), is it? Don’t tease me like this, GAC. Read more
I wonder if that inline V6 has adjustable powerbands. Read more
It does indeed look very much like a horizontally-flipped logo. Which is baffling enough on its own (is this what you want, GM? Really?), but weirder still is that it’s not even faithfully mirrored. Two out of the four quadrants shouldn’t have vertical elements, yet there’s this:
It never ceases to amaze me how a driver can achieve such such a high level of skill and precision that they can almost completely eliminate themselves as a variable and say exactly how much faster one car is over another over the course of a circuit like this. Read more
NANDA KONO KURUMA?
I can understand an officer not wanting to crawl underneath the vehicle in question to determine what’s actually going on... but wouldn’t it be more appropriate to issue fix-it tickets for defective equipment like rotting/rusting/damaged exhaust components, while reserving FINES for blatant attempts at… Read more

What are you going to do with a car that can hop up a few feet for a few seconds, and then land?
Yeah and I just realized how that paragraph could come across as contradictory. Too late to edit it now, but what I was trying to get across is that 1) our responsibility is to put actual effort into our driving, and 2) the only thing the government needs to change in order to help prevent crashes is to raise the… Read more
Driver education matters. And it can be a lot more effective than you might think. More so than waiting around with our collective thumbs up our butts waiting for driverless cars to save us from ourselves, that’s for sure. Read more
I won’t begrudge the naming of this thing after its inventor, but I’m disappointed to hear that its official terminology refers to it as a “device”. So vague. Why not call it a gauge or caliper instead? That’s clearly what it is. Could have even kept the name attached to it, to help identify it from other calipers: Bra… Read more
I forget, was the 75 kWh battery a physically different battery pack, or one of those battery options where the larger version is already on the car but locked behind a paywall? Read more
I thought you were making some weird reference to the drink mix, but no. Apparently Mitsubishi really did call that roof “Crystal Lite”. Huh. Read more
I like that. At freeway speeds, one lane change per mile seems perfectly reasonable. Not too terribly early, not too terribly late. Read more
Yeah, I’m not seeing anything that looks like an equal and opposite reaction upon the car allegedly hitting the bot. The car gets really close and then the bot just sort of falls over. The timing is spot-on, but it doesn’t look like an impact. And I doubt that this “Promobot” is unstable or light enough to be knocked… Read more

Huh. According to RockAuto, brakes are one of the few replacement parts that you can even get for a Tesla. I wonder if Elon thinks that wiper blades are supposed to last forever too...
That’s a strange spot for the trunk release. Although... it is kind of interesting to have the driver’s eyes sweep right by the center mirror on the way to hit the button. Might not be such a bad location after all. Read more
