I wonder if “modified” would have been the better word. I prefer to reserve “tuned” for functional mods that actually improve performance. Not just engine stuff, because technically you can tune suspension, aero, etc. too... Read more

Uncle Doug is pissed too. Kids these days, trying to go all BUMPER to BUMPER at Carmax...

Won’t be racing, but I’ll try to make it there. Read more

What about S197s? I feel like I’ve seen just as many with the tri-bar logo on the fender as I have ones with “4.0” and “3.7” emblems. And a whole bunch with no badge on the fender at all. I’ve completely lost track of what the stock look was supposed to be. Read more

I always liked how (at least for certain eras), Ford avoided use of explicit “V6” badging on the Mustang, leaving only the V8 models to brag about engine size. Base models would instead display the classic tri-bar running horse logo. Now, I could never bring myself to put aftermarket “V6” badges on a V8 car, but I Read more

Well I suppose that ultimately, Toadette is still her proper name, regardless of what form she adopts through a power-up. Just like how Mario is still Mario, despite “becoming” Fire Mario or Tanooki Mario. It’s not like a new entity is being born, adopting genetic traits or names from its parents. Peachette is really m Read more

I think this is the correct approach. We keep using Corvette terminology, and I’m not sure that’s appropriate. This... Zora ...or whatever it’s going to be called shouldn’t have a C# designation. Read more

This. Toadette was already an “ette” before even touching the Super Crown. The Super Crown does not bestow “ette”ness. It bestows Peachness. Read more

No joke, I’m genuinely curious what exactly the cul-de-sac was “nearby” to. The kid as supposedly in the cul-de-sac, but it doesn’t actually say where the car was. Only that the cul-de-sac was “nearby”, which could be referring to its proximity to the car, or to the parents’ vantage point. I’d really like to know how Read more

Ok, I’ll concede that it’s totally possible to have something that looks kinda sketchy, yet has no chance of falling off. I don’t mind giving him that one, since I haven’t personally felt how tight the straps are. FWIW, they’re probably strapped pretty freaking tight, if it’s buckling his roof. Read more

It’s not clear what the parameters are here, whether this function is available at all times or if it turns off once the car is in motion. It would make sense that it would turn off once you’re driving to reduce distractions. Read more

My favorite part about the MiniDisc is the cartridge that protects the disc from scratches. Shame it never really caught on in the US. Read more

Not old-school enough, IMO. Haven’t had the chance to sit in one myself yet, but from here the rear corner visibility looks about as bad as a Camaro.

A small lens hot glued to a popsicle stick... Hm, I like that. Sounds a lot less bulky than the magnifying glass I’ve been using, or those commercially-available camera phone lenses. I kinda hate to tear apart a good camera though, but maybe a disposable one... Read more

“Wrencholutions” I haven’t made any, but I’m totally gonna start using that term in the future. I wonder if my brother has made any wrencholutions. I need to pester him into finishing up that Saab project. Read more
