Heat affects all aircraft basically the same - less engine power, less lift (for a given airspeed). A STOL is not really suited to routine air ambulance ops anyway. For starters, I’m not sure there are many (any?) turbine STOL aircraft, and if you think high heat is bad on turbine performance, it’s way worse on piston… Read more

DO NOT rely on the dealer. Go to your own bank or credit union before you even start shopping and get a blanket approval up to whatever amount you and they are comfortable with. Worst case scenario, you might not be able to drive home with the car THAT very day. But getting you to is a good incentive for the car… Read more
It isn’t a thing. The more accurate term for this is “lying” -- the dealer is knowingly misrepresenting the state of the loan application in order to close the deal, hoping to be able to clean up the mess later on.

If we lived in a sane world dealerships would not be allowed to sell financing. It’s a conflict of interest as the best interests of the finance company, the auto manufacturers and the customers are not aligned. Read more
