In my experience, they will respond, but the vehicle may be long gone once they arrive. If you’re lucky, the thieving asshole is dumb enough to leave such a distinctive car sitting in one place for too long. Read more

Not exactly true. The Smart Fortwo CDI took 20 seconds to reach 60 mph well into the 2010s. Ignoring that, the gas Smart Fortwo had a 12-second time to 60 mph as recently as 2015. The electric version took 11 seconds as recently as 2019. Read more

I still remember watching that episode when I was a kid! Still better than "Threshold” and the whole salamander thing, which has even been referenced recently in Prodigy. lol Read more

I would have not cut up a 2009 Brabus for this experiment; there were not many of those made that year. That said, starting with a Brabus as a base is sort of hilarious. It came slightly lowered from the factory, which makes lifting it almost a middle finger to Brabus. lol Read more

I want to note that buying that Acty may result in a large headache if you live in Pennsylvania. That state is among the growing list of states kicking kei cars off its roads. A handful of them are grandfathered in, but only with current owners. Read more

This goes even further than that! Airliners can lose an engine after V1 and still have enough performance to lift off and safely return to the airport. Read more

Kei trucks and vans are great! And yes, big people fit in them just fine. My 1989 Suzuki Every has a roof with three huge glass panels, bucket seats for everyone, four-wheel-drive, a manual transmission with a crawler gear, and a turbo that illuminates a green “TURBO” light on the dash when it spools up. And there’s my motivation to upgrade! I’ve been flying in FSX since 2007 and X-Plane since 2018. I’ve had an An-225 in FSX for maybe a decade, but the model was definitely low poly-ish and FSX doesn’t seem to know how to handle big birds like these well.

And I miss all of you, too! I’m still here! I’ll forever be a reader of this place. ♥ Read more

I drive it like a stereotypical Corvette owner. It gets taken out on the weekends, driven out along the shores of Lake Michigan and maybe a car show or two, then it goes right back to its mini warehouse and on the battery tender. lol Read more

I’m happy to report that the V10 TDI is still alive and hasn’t visited my mechanic even once. Granted, I attribute that to the climate-controlled storage and the fact that I drive it very carefully. There’s probably a blood sacrifice to Lord Piech somewhere in there too. lol Read more

“I’ve run the numbers myself to argue with my anti EV relatives. If you primarily charge at fast chargers you may spend more than an ecobox car.” Read more

This is the logic that motivated me to buy a Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI. The first couple of owners soaked up all of the depreciation. Now I get to enjoy V10 diesel power for just $5,000! It’s definitely a dice roll, and one that has thus far landed way closer to 20 than 1. Read more

I’ve seen people in both camps. Some say that they’re easy to work with, others end up getting pissed off and selling the bike. I’ve been on both sides at various points. lol The previous owner of mine thought the Veedub carb was better than stock. It probably wasn’t! Read more

Had a 1980 GL1100 once. Mine didn’t have any fairings, instead looking like a fat Harley:

Getting through Chicago is even worse than getting into it. I often drive to Michigan, southern Indiana, and Tennessee. Illinois offers a number of highways to get to the other side of Chicago, but it doesn’t seem to matter which one you take through. It seems that once I hit 294 at O’Hare it’s a parking lot all of Read more

Chicago has only ever had 2 settings whenever I’ve been there, complete paralysis or anarchic autobahn.
