Absolutely great read.

I live about 20 minutes from VAFB. The rocket launches are always awe inspiring to watch. The base use to do an open house every other year, open to the public, where one could walk around, check out the base, take photos with jets, climb through bombers, etc. They haven’t done that since 9/11. Work pretty close to that facility. Still running today. Nice enough place too. Glad to see it still going after so long. Didn’t realize it was such an old facility, pretty impressive testamentt to design that it can still serve purpose to this day.

Yep, here in Vegas you see one landing or taking off almost every week at least. Read more

I’ve been to Ushuaia and can attest that the crosswinds are powerful. To get there I actually landed at Rio Gallegos and toured southern Patagonia through Argentina and Chile and back to Argentina. We crossed the Drake Channel in a rickety military cargo boat. Read more
