So how does a person that has never driven before know they want a manual? I mean I’m not trying to change anyone’s mind. But a manual transmission is really something that has to be experienced for someone to know if it is what they want or not. Read more

IMO, the issue isn’t that his crash negated faster laps behind him, the issue was the crash ended the session, which negated drivers from having another attempt after the clean up. I know F1 has to keep a schedule, but ending a qualifying session with a red flag, and Q3 at that, just leaves a slightly sour taste in Read more

Great example of why there’s so much more to the experience of a car than how fast it goes. I’d love to read it if you write it. Read more

Sooo you're Trunks from DBZ with a headlight obsession? Read more

The 2008 to 2014 Dodge Challenger was kind of like that. It looks like four headlights, but it’s really the front grill and fascia assembly that provides the illusion of quad headlights. You can see from the wrecked one below that it’s actually a single headlight assembly similar to the Alfa.

I’m very conflicted on Lucid. I love the idea of 400+mi of range in a high-performance non-tesla sedan, and the car is beautiful. However, they sold a majority share to the Saudi Government, and quite frankly I do not wish to give money to people who kill opposition journalists and oppress women, not to mention their Read more

What an awesome story. Love it. Followed. More of this stuff Jalopnik. This is why I love this site. Read more

What a hero. Someday I hope they can get it out on track somewhere (and being east coast, somewhere nearer than Monterey). Autobacs should throw him a sponsorship and send the employee over on vacation if they ever do. Read more

That design aged incredibly well. It looks downright “normal” by today’s design standards. I actually remember when they unveiled this, and recall thinking “wow, that’s futuristic.” Read more

I played the Crew extensively and now the Crew 2. It is totally an arcade game and that’s it’s point. It’s got all sorts of vehicles to play with too and tons of different challenges or just open play if you want. I enjoy the goofy, not quite rightness of the details but it works. The original Crew did feel a bit more Read more

The Crew always looked as a racing game made by a committee of executives and bean counters that aren’t car enthusiasts. And Ubisoft have the Reflections studio in UK with car guys that made the awesome Driver San Francisco, a game with one of the best arcade car physics lots of attention to details. Read more

I’m actually a bit surprised that whoever owns the Laguna Seca name (was it SCAMP or Monterey at the time?) allowed the use of their name on this. You’d think they would want to protect the brand. Read more

I would still put Button in front of Coulthard, but likely equal to Rosberg in final rating. The rating accurately captures Rosberg’s raw pace, however Button was such wizard at tire management and variable conditions (hence the high racecraft/awareness rating) that I think gives him the edge to Coulthard. I think 90 for Button is fair. Let’s not forget that he beat Hamilton in the intra season they had together in 2011 at McLaren when the car was a bit better fitted to him, finished 2nd of the Championship behind Vettel, not a small feat. And he beat Barichello to the title with Brawn. Always have been underrated but Read more

I don’t know how the rating system works, but no, Button is definitely a notch or two above the likes of Coulthard. On his best days, Button was so sublime. By the way, Brawn GP wasn’t competitive not just because other teams figured it out. They had no money so that the car never really developed over the season.
