Aussie racers declare victory over burnout ban

When the V8 Supercar officials tried to ban post-race burnouts, the racers protested with burnouts of their own. Now the sport's backing down. Winning drivers can do burnouts if done in "a safe and responsible manner."

Australian officials have to be careful not to cross the anti-hooning forces within the government so they've got to qualify their approval with this mess:

"From a wider perspective we then need to ensure it is not something we are encouraging people, particularly young people, to do outside of a racing environment."

Oh well. Let's celebrate our small victory with this almost nauseatingly perfect burnout from Russell Ingall in his old Ford Falcon.
