The Lincoln Mark LT and Continental CXT are sighing the sigh of relief this morning — while Camp Jeep outposts everywhere are stocking up on tissues. According to Ward's Auto, Chrysler Group COO Eric Ridenour dashed the hopes of Jeep enthusiasts hoping to see the Gladiator pickup concept from the 2005 North American International Auto Show (NAMBLA) go from imagination to reality — and become the first pickup added to the Jeep lineup since the halcyon days of '92 and the Jeep Comanche. Ridenour's claim that "it wasn't profitable" especially rankled Jeepsters, who argue that hasn't stopped DaimlerChrysler in the past.
