Toyota has announced they're going to take their entire stack of chips- and what a stack it is! - and bet it on internal-combustion/electric-hybrid drivetrain technology, saying they'll cut the hell out of production costs and have the setup in all their vehicles by 2020. Whether this move is yet another big step toward world domination or an insane gamble on a technology that may seem as antiquated as the 8-track tape a few years down the line... well, Toyota hasn't been wrong too many times so far.
