Steve Martin once comically substituted getting "small" for getting "high" in a parody of drug humor. Let's get small with the smallest vehicles on the road! What's your favorite microcar?
The microcar was often born out of necessity (whether political or practical), not engineering creativity, but thanks to limited resources, they're often some of the most delightfully clever vehicles on the road. A good example is the front-doored, rear-engined Isetta. The necessity was the state of Europe after World War II, and the creativity came in the car's packaging and execution. The Isetta is functional, aerodynamic, efficient, and beautiful in its own way. An Isetta is the perfect addition to any quirky collection.
