Ford Racing released this video of the Boss 302S testing at Florida's Homestead-Miami Speedway. According to the video the car hit over 150 MPH while pulling over 1.5 Gs. Only 50 of the race only Mustangs will be made when the car goes into production sometime in the second half of 2011.
The Boss 302S is positioned between the street legal Boss 302 Laguna Seca and the more serious full race Boss 302R. Although it will be legal for several race series the 302S would be right at home serving as a track day terrorizer. The 302S is intended to replace the Mustang FR500S, originally dubbed the "affordable racer."
While affordability is a matter of perspective, if you have some spare cash and the burning desire to go racing, the Boss 302S sure looks like fun to us. These $79,000 race cars will be sold exclusively through Ford Racing while they last which, judging by the performance of the car in this video, won't be long.
