Welcome to Down On The Street, where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot: Alameda, California. Somehow, a Javelin has been hiding mere blocks from my house!
Even in Alameda, AMCs have become depressingly scarce. Prior to today's car, we've seen this Ambassador wagon, this AMX, and this Pacer. Other than the SC/Rambler and the Marlin, the late-60s Javelin may be my favorite Kenosha product, so finding this survivor really made my day.

This car came with a 290-cube V8, but there's no telling what sort of swap madness has taken place since it rolled off the assembly line. 343? 390? 401?
