Welcome to Down On The Street, where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot: Alameda, California. We haven't seen many Impalas in this series, and today's car is our first Impala convertible.
Caprices and Bel Airs, sure, but— before today— the Impala was represented by just this '65 sedan, this '65 coupe, this '70 hardtop, and this mean-looking '74.

This mildly customized and very clean '64 convertible, which I found parked around the corner from the home of the only DOTS Ferrari, appears to be an out-of-town visitor. Will it be making the Island That Time Forgot its new home? I certainly hope so!
