Sometimes we get lucky in this world when deals that seem too good to be true are actually just good deals. That – I’m fairly certain – is exactly what we’ve got going on at Larry H. Miller Chrysler Dodge Ram Fiat of Denver. As we come to the end of the year, this dealership is offering an almost unbelievable deal on a Fiat 500e lease. There are just two catches, from what I can tell: You’ve got to be a Colorado resident and you’ve got to be OK with driving one of the lesser electric vehicles on sale today. If both of those things sound fine to you, then this might be the deal of the century.

Larry H. Miller Fiat is offering a brand new 2024 500e for $0 down and $0 per month for 27 months at 10,000 miles a year. From what I can tell, the only thing you’ll have to pay for during the life of this lease is the sales tax, which the dealer says comes out to $1,297.68 and a $395 disposition fee at the end of the lease. That’s $62.69 a month if I did my math correctly.

That is an outrageous bargain for a brand-new car. Hell, even if you want to buy it out at the end of 27 months, the purchase price is only going to be $17,388. All in, you could own a 500e, which currently starts at $34,095 including destination), for right around $20,000. It’s mighty tempting.

I have tried to figure out what the catch is here, and I really can’t. You just have to live in Colorado. However, there are some unknowns. It’s hard to say how many 500es this actually applies to at the dealership. For all we know, it could just be one car sitting at the back of the lot. I tried to figure it out, and I called the dealerships three times, but I never got an answer. I also reached out to Stellantis for some information, but I didn’t get a response there either. I don’t know what that’s about, but it’s a Friday, so I can’t blame them for not wanting to chat on the phone with someone who isn’t buying their car.

Folks in Colorado get all of the good deals, man. Last month, we reported that this same dealer was advertising a 500e lease for $0 down and $19/month. That’s pretty damn good, but not in the same stratosphere as almost no money for over two years. We also talked about a Nissan dealer in Aurora that was offering a similar deal on new Nissan Leafs, but I’d much rather have the Fiat for that sort of money. Maybe it’s time for us to all move out west.

The 500e, at its full price, is really not a compelling car to buy with its 141 miles of range and lackluster 117 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. However, when you make it basically free, it’s hard to argue that it isn’t one of the best cars on sale today from a value perspective.

If you’re in Colorado, give Larry H. Miller a call. Maybe they’ll pick up for you.

Updated Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11:05 a.m. EST: We reached out to Fiat about this lease deal and ones that are similar to it, and a representative for the brand had this to say:

We appreciate that certain state governments, such as Colorado’s, apply tax incentives for electric vehicles. Those state incentives, along with available federal tax incentives for EVs, plus the Fiat 500e’s strong residual value, allow dealers to use non-traditional tactics when leasing/selling new EVs. Much like the FIAT brand, Fiat dealers find creative ways to capture customer attention.
