I don’t know how or why this happened—maybe automakers are making so much money off gray, white and silver crossovers that they just said “fuck it, why not”—but green is having something of a renaissance right now. We’ve seen more green options on new cars than we have in many years. If you ask me, the green comeback has now been firmly cemented by the 2019 Ford Mustang.

Right in time for St. Patrick’s Day—a holiday I myself enjoy but try not to drive on, and I’d advise the same of you—Ford announced that this rad new color, “Need For Green”, is available across the entire Mustang lineup this summer. If you buy a Mustang, get it in this color.

Why is this news? Because for years, cars were plagued with depressingly boring color choices, and now we’re seeing a little bit of green to brighten up our days. And it’s on fun cars, too. The current BMW M5, Volkswagen GTI, Audi RS5, Porsche 911 and various Subarus all come in various shades of green these days.

Green is good! Buy more interesting cars instead of boring stupid ones. That’s what I think!
