Just go ahead and wonder aloud right now about what the fuck is wrong with people, because it’s going to come out sooner or later as you read this story. Because, seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people? Why would anyone drive around shooting guns out a car window, and then be stupid enough to Snapchat it? I guess we’ll have to ask this pair of morons why, when they’re finally caught.
Here’s what happened: a man and a woman were driving late at night/very early in the morning (around 3 am seems to be the time) in west Houston in the area of Highway 6 and Memorial Drive. For some idiotic reason, they decided to fire guns out the car window as they drove, into neighborhoods and businesses, blindly.
The man driving the car fired four rounds from a handgun, and the woman fired at least ten rounds from what was identified as a MPA30DMG 9mm pistol.
The Reddit group r/Houston has done some remarkable amateur detective work regarding the incident, including capturing and preserving the normally ephemeral Snapchat videos, which you can see here:
There’s the driving, driving and shooting.
Here’s the passenger, firing off a lot of rounds, even with those crazy long nails.
This video compiles the others and includes a now-deleted segment where the passenger has difficulty operating the weapon.
The Houston Police Department tweeted clear screenshots of the meaningless shooters, and the Reddit detectives have identified the male member of the Dipshit Duo, though they’ve not released his name publicly by the request of the police. Even so, people have found him and have been messaging him on his Facebook profile, which has spurred him to delete posts and is making the police’s investigation more difficult.
Channel 2 News in Houston has been out to the areas the shootings appear to have taken place, and found shell casings and at least one bullet hole in a business’ sign, suggesting that the couple may not have been just firing blanks.
It may also be helpful to identify the vehicle; that inside door panel has some distinctive bits, and we think it’s a GMC Sierra door panel, strongly suggesting it’s attached to a GMC Sierra truck.
