If anyone is around San Francisco tomorrow, there’s a fascinating car movie playing you should see. It’s called Iran’s Arrow: The Rise and Fall of Paykan, and none other than former Jalopnik legend Murilee Martin says it’s great. That’s all the endorsement you need!

I haven’t seen it yet, but I trust Murilee on this kind of stuff.

The Paykan was the Iranian version of the old 1966 Hillman Hunter, which Iran Khodro kept on churning out until 2005.

The movie also reveals this remarkable fact: if you grew up in Iran, the song they sing to you at your birthday is actually from an old TV commercial for the Paykan!

That’s the one!

Anyway, if you’re free tomorrow night, go check it out.
