I remember hiking in Yosemite in the summer, putting my nose up to every tree I passed. They were Jeffery’s Pine. The bark smells like vanilla, only richer and woodsier. One of the guys I was hiking with swore that if anyone made a Jeffery’s Pine cologne, they’d be rich.
I don’t know if the guy ever followed through with his Jeffrey’s Pine fragrance plan, but I like the idea of appreciating everyday smells around us.
The car air freshener industry, for instance, could do well with accepting all kinds of automotive smells not yet appreciated. The sweet taste of race gas, for one.
What car freshener smell (that doesn’t exist now) do you think should get made?
