The Lexus RC has been on sale for over a decade with nearly 100,000 of the luxury coupes sold. Now, it’s time to say goodbye as the Japanese automaker prepares to let it drive off to the great dealership in the sky. To celebrate a job well done, Lexus has come up with a special edition of the RC F and some small updates to the regular RC.

Lexus’ BMW 4 Series fighter has had a slow go of it over the past few years. In 2024, just 1,854 of the course were sold. Perhaps that’s the reason Lexus finally pulled the plug on the model. Regardless, it’s going out with a bang. Lexus is building on the RC F Carbon Edition to create the RC F Final Edition. The Carbon Edition came equipped with a carbon fiber hood and roof among other things.

With looks that Lexus says are inspired by the RC F GT3 race car, the RC F Final Edition gets a roof, side rocker panels, front spoiler and rear diffuser all made out of carbon fiber. It also gets an active rear wing, lightweight 19-inch BBS wheels and red brake calipers.

The bigger enhancements are under the skin. Lexus has added a level of craftsmanship to the RC F Final Edition. Both the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 and the rear differential are handcrafted by skilled technicians who also took enough care to refine the over 470 horsepower V8, which Lexus says has resulted in smoother acceleration; 60 mph comes in at 4.2 seconds.

Inside, the RC F Final Edition gets a black and red interior, standard Mark Levinson sound system, a 10.3-inch touchscreen and carbon fiber “Final Edition” badges on the console. You’ll have to dig deep in your pockets if you want a chance to own an RC F Final Edition. Including destination charges, the Final Edition will set you back $95,175.

Lexus also updated the standard RC line. Buyers will still be able to choose between the 260 horsepower V6 powered RC300 which comes standard with all-wheel drive or the 311 horsepower RC350 which is available with rear or all-wheel drive. Pricing for the standard RC line starts at $47,620.

As for the further of the RC, that’s up in the air. Sort of. Back in 2022, Toyota TRD president, David Wilson, said a next-generation RC was being developed in conjunction with its GT3 variant. This was being done to address the RC’s weight problem, which had always been an issue with the car. Since then, nothing has been said about a next-generation RC. Hopefully, Lexus is still working on a coupe of the future. With the sports coupe market constantly shrinking, it would suck for it to be down yet another model.
