The Hyundai Vision G May Be The Fanciest, Hottest Hyundai Ever

As Asian premium brands are steeping up their game like Infiniti with the 2016 Q60, Hyundai is not wasting time either coming up with a new design language featuring a bigger grill than any Bentley.

The Vision G Concept Coupe hit the stage at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art aimed at those who went to Pebble Beach to drink champagne while examining the nicest cars on the planet.

Hyundai says this is the direction they want to take with their more upscale models in the future “without being over the top in terms of glitz and stereotypical luxury cues”, and a V8-powered luxury 2+2 waring a Genesis badge is certainly a good way to start hitting those higher gates.

In fact, I think they only need to slightly lower the max temperature settings for their climate control, and the Vision G should be pretty much ready for production.

The Concept is powered by a 5.0 V8 producing 420 horsepower at 6,000 rmp and 383 lb. ft. at 5,000 revs. Hyundai says this Tau V8 is better than ever thanks to an optimized intake, enhanced timing chain for reduced friction, a low-torque exhaust manifold, increased compression and the upgraded injection mapping.

Overall, it’s a nice concept, but have you ever seen a higher beltline?

Still, I’ve seen worst bunker interiors than the cabin of this:

Hyundai and Kia will keep stretching their legs, and that can only be good for us.
