I just got back from Iceland (much more on that to come) and I figured a good way to leap back into American life would be to do this talk at NC State about a bunch of incredible Malaise-Era short films provided by the amazing Skip Elsheimer of the A/V Geeks. This'll be fun, so if you're free tonight at 6, come on out!
The talk/viewing will be at the Hunt Library on the NC State campus, in something they call the Commons Wall, which looks like a colossal staircase with projection screens and stuff. It's cool.
The films being shown will highlight all kinds of gloriously bleak 70s-era cars and car issues, like the 55 MPH law, the rise of small cars to unfamiliar Americans, some great period ads, and all the Smokey and the Bandit trailers we can legally show at one time. Plus, I'll talk about this great era, and maybe relate that awesome Soichiro Honda/GM/CVCC story.
I hope to see some of you local Jalops there!
