Shutting down an intersection in the East Bay for a donut-filled sideshow is nothing new. Shutting down two highways and the country's fifth-busiest port all at once is a different story.
If you've been under a rock ever since Tell Me When To Go got on the national charts, a sideshow is when a bunch of people close off an intersection and do donuts, burnouts, and whatever else. They were big when hyphy was on the radio, but even after the music scene faded, muscle car heads still kept running 'em.
Last year, a bunch of morons shut down just one highway.
Over this past weekend, over a hundred drivers closed off interstates 880 and 580, as well as blocked the Port of Oakland and a couple of intersections in Oakland proper, KRON 4 reports.
The CHP claims that that one person died in a police chase related to one of the incidents.
