If you're like most kids who grew up in the 1980s, everything you know about amphibians, highway crossing, and river fording you learned from a video game called Frogger. Since we live in the HD World Of The Future, I thought it'd be fun to see what Frogger would look like in Google Earth.

Frogger's play field described a bit of landscape, seen from overhead. For those of you who may have forgotten, it looked like this:

So, if we take that basic layout, and use bits grabbed from all over Google earth to make this novel landscape of highway and a log-and-turtle-choked river, capped with a cozy series of five frog-friendly inlets, I think we'd end up with something like this:

I went ahead and used a section of highway I was familiar with, the 101, because it's easy to picture an SUV-sized frog leaping across there, for some reason.

Now we just need some eccentric developer to recreate this and breed some colossal frogs with remote-control implants, and we can finally play live-action helicopter Frogger!
